This sauce is not really sweet and you can't tell Coke is an ingredient. It's perfect for brisket, but goes with other grilled and smoked foods, too. Note: in the Hill country region/ south of Austin, Texas where some of the famous meat markets still are that first served brisket, these markets make it a point of letting one know that their beef is so wonderful, you don't need sauce. They seem to take pride in serving the worst bbq sauces (and sides)on the planet. Guess it's some sort of punishment for you not just showing up to eat their brisket, which is, in my opinion, ok to good, but over-rated. Anyhow, if you go on a bbq tour to the Hill Country, take your own sauce. Better yet, visit the wine country before dinner and knock back a couple of glasses first. Some Texas wines are wonderful.
