To be honest with you, my aunt’s recipe was chocolate chip cookies, not bars, but I decided to make them into bars one evening when I wanted something sweet and did not want to bake endless pans of cookies (her recipe makes about 70 cookies). I used to make these cookies all the time when I was a teenager and I have not made her version in years. I tweaked it ever so slightly using a box of vanilla pudding and a 9×13 pan which made the bars thicker and almost cake-like. I topped the pan with some semi sweet chocolate in a thin layer and boy were they delicious.
