My husband married me on the condition that I never buy a jar of spaghetti sauce and that I ALWAYS use his mother's recipe. No complaints here!(I pretty much never let it simmer a full hour, so I can't tell you if it actually needs to simmer that long, but I think 20 minutes cooking time is plenty.)
