This is a delicious Indian dish with an added flavor of chives. If you want to lower the fat from Panir, replace with baked tofu chunks.

  • peas, frozen, 1.5 package (10 oz)
  • panir, fresh (not fried), 5 oz
  • olive oil, 1 tbsp
  • onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) chopped extra fine
  • ginger root, 1 " long,peeled and shredded.
  • *cumin seed, 1 tsp roasted and ground or use powder.
  • *coriander seed, 1 tsp rosted and ground or use powder 3/4 tsp.
  • cayenne, 1/2 tsp ( increase if you like spicy hot)
  • cilantro, raw, 1 sprig, chopped and rinsed well.
  • turmeric, ground, .25 tsp
  • *philadelphia light chives and onion cream cheese, 8 tbsp
  • progresso crushed tomatoes with puree, ( o basil or other spices added) 0.75 cup
